Sunday

Susan announced to me after apparently much thought that she has decided not to return to Lakeland if the offer presented itself. She figured that I had assumed this was the case, but she wanted me to know that she has finally and formally come to a decision.

Tuesday

Susan informed me that we got 3 numbers last night on our lotto ticket. That's encouraging. It is foggy this morning about 31, but the road look OK, Susan is not too concerned. She lost 3 points when weighing herself this morning, and that is encouraging, too. Her revelation was that "the dark side, the dark queen, feeds off our despair," and Susan is refusing to let that happen. Good girl!

Friday

Yesterday, Thanksgiving, Susan and I walked downtown, returning books to the library. However, our main reason for going downtown was to watch the new Twilight movie Breaking Dawn, Part 1, and the AMC movie theater. It was rather loud, but the movie was fabulous. Then we had delicious vegetarian nachos in the food court at Taco Del Mar. We walked home to read in bed and sip white wine. (Mother called on Susan's cell. She was having thanksgiving dinner at her place with Kim, CJ and someone else. She admitted that she was disappointed that her strength was not returning like she'd thought.) We have salad at 3:00 and watched Eclipse. We had a lovely day. The weather, by the way, was in the 40s with moments of blue sky.

Thursday Thanksgiving

We are truly thankful for all that we have, and all that we will have: Increased wealth, restored health and greater happiness.

Tuesday

Yesterday morning we decided to take the #42 bus and when it picked up more passengers at 6th and Adams--mostly of ethnic and loser-types--Susan aptly named it the ghetto bus. We caught the #23 home and got downtown at 5:15. The outbound #42 wasn't scheduled until 5:35. Susan suggested that we walk home, figuring that we would get home earlier. In fact we did: 5:35 PM! Amazing. We jumped on the #2 which left at 5:20; took it up to Deaconess; took the short-cut through the Medical Building and it was brilliant. Anyway, this morning Susan declared to me that she felt great; had good sleep and it's raining and 38 degrees, so she can drive to work as she hoped, and that way go to the store on her lunch. I really feel that we will be winning tonight.

Monday's Card-of-the-Day

Susan's Four of Pentacles. (As if my magic....)
Daniel's Queen of Wands. Susan is a "a strong, sensual woman...she knows what she wants."
Susan is in--predictably--a sour mood. She didn't get enough sleep; her weight was up, the weather is "fucked," and she has to go back to work. It's 29 but there is a large light blue blob coming towards Spokane. But Tuesday and Wednesday look as if she could drive: the low will be above freezing.

Sunday, November 20, 2011

Sunday's Card-of-the-Day

Susan's Page of Pentacles
Daniel's The Tower
Susan has gotten over her cold. 'Tis a good thing: doesn't want to be sick tomorrow. We have a little snow on the ground and the temperature is around 25. Yesterday Susan started off making cookies but the the dough when mixed looked more like cake batter, so she made a cake from it, and it was really good. She also made a loaf without recipes and it turned out fantastic, and most delicious. We juiced in the morning and will again this morning. We went for a walk to Rosauer's on 14th yesterday. Wore Yak-Traks and didn't fall down, thank goodness. We are seriously into fashion. Watched Sense and Sensibility last night. 'Twas a wonderful movie.

Thursday, November 17, 2011

Thursday's Card-of-the-Day

Susan's Knight of Wands
Daniel's Ten of Cups
Susan's cold has set in. Yesterday afternoon she was feeling pretty good and considered that she might go to work, but this morning she sounds and feels like she definitely has a cold. She will be staying home again, and I am happy about that. It's my four hour day so I will be home sooner at about 1:30.

Wednesday, November 16, 2011

Wednesday's Card-of-the-Day

Susan's Ten of Wands
Daniel's The Hermit
Susan's has come down with a cold and is staying home. It's 17 degrees and it predicted to snow today and then rain in the afternoon.

Tuesday, November 15, 2011

Tuesday's Card-of-the-Day

Susan's Five of Cups
Daniel's Ten of Wands
Susan's told me this morning when waking me up at 5:00 AM that she felt as if she was coming down with a cold. I picked the same card as yesterday. Thought at that time that it had to do with Susan. I think that again, especially hearing that Scott and Kat are away in a meeting, Alex doesn't do shit, Lily hasn't been feeling good; and even though this is her paper day, she will probably do intakes. Susan is a wonderful person and pulls her load. Won't leave Joel hanging with all the intakes.

Monday's Card-of-the-Day

Susan's Ten of Cups again--that's great. Our three day weekend was wonderful. We've made a commitment to eating Vegan. We did lots of cooking. Susan roasted vegetables, and made a delicious lentil loaf. We made radicchio pizza, and Ezekiel bread. We went for walks and also: we stopped drinking. Daniel's card-of-the-day is the Ten of Wands.

Friday, November 11, 2011

Friday's Card-of-the-Day

Susan's Nine of Pentacles
Daniel's The Lovers
Today is Veteran's Day. 'Tis a holiday--Susan is off--I am usually off on Friday anyway; but we are home together and have a three day weekend together, and we are so happy and I'm feeling that winning the MegaMillion jackpot is in the cards so to speak.

Wednesday, November 9, 2011

Wednesday's Card-of-the-Day

Susan's Ten of Wands
Daniel's The Empress
Susan figures that her card is warning her not to get burned out, and I think that my card--The Empress, who is Susan, my Queen--reinforces the meaning she attributes to the Ten of Wands.

Tuesday, November 8, 2011

Tuesday's Card-of-the-Day

Susan's Five of Pentacles - Theme: Loss of wealth or faith.
Daniel's Queen of Pentacles - Theme: A wealthy, yet generous woman.
Susan asks, "Can I be your Queen of Pentacles, Danny?" "But, of course; you are the Queen of Pentacles, my dear!"

Sunday, November 6, 2011

Sunday's Card-of-the-Day

Susan's Three of Cups, theme: Celebration
Daniel's Ace of Wands, theme: Outburst of creativity
Seems that these two cards portend winning the lotto tomorrow, Tuesday and/or Wednesday.
Turned our clocks back this morning: Pacific Standard Time.
Andy called yesterday afternoon. He sounded good; didn't ask for money (which is a good thing).
Susan lost a pound and a half yesterday. That's a very good thing. She also has decided that we will retire in Thailand, and she'll start a new blog once we visit there called: A Witch in Thailand. Sounds fun.

Friday, November 4, 2011

Friday's Card-of-the-Day

Susan picked the same card as yesterday, Five of Pentacles. It irritated her, so she put here deck away. Then after we watched Person of Interest, we watched some more of Bio about Witches, and she and I got re-inspired. She is going to buy the winning tickets today at 7-11. I picked The Emperor. I called Mother, and she is doing very well. Bentley made it to Tokyo.

Thursday, November 3, 2011

Thursday's Card-of-the-Day

Susan's Five of Pentacles
Daniel's Temperance
Bentley left early this morning, taking a taxi to the airport. There was a possibility of snow this morning, so we decided not to drive him to the airport. Right now, though, the temperature is 43, and no snow.

Friday, October 28, 2011

Friday's Card-of-the-Day

Susan's Eight of Swords
Daniel's The High Priestess
Bentley arrived yesterday. Susan picked him up at the airport around 1:00 PM. We all had lunch at Linnie's (Thai) around 2:30. Had an enjoyable evening talking about his job and Trance and Techno music.

Sunday, October 23, 2011

Sunday's Card-of-the-Day

Susan's Eight of Swords
Daniel's Two of Wands
Susan told me that she started watching Alice in Wonderland and was enchanted by it. It's odd; we tried to watch that movie a year or so ago, and couldn't. But now....
Susan has named all the fairies now. There's Esmeralda, or Esme for short. There's Allison and Lisa, and finally Abigail, or Abby.

Saturday, October 22, 2011

Saturday's Card-of-the-Day

Susan's King of Wands
Daniel's Two of Wands
Kim called Thursday, saying that Mother was in the hospital with bowel obstruction. She has a tube down her throat and is unable to talk. She called Friday and said that Mother had surgery, taking out some colon and small intestine.

Friday, October 21, 2011

Thursday, October 20, 2011

Thursday's Card-of-the-Day

Susan's The Tower
Daniel's Seven of Wands
Yesterday morning Susan was telling me that when Scott interviewed her for a PDP evaluation he mentioned that she was a Permanent State Employee. Joy remarked yesterday that "the whole program is the chopping block." Susan pointed out to me this morning, that she's been there almost a year and that she has RIF-rights. There is some kind of big meeting today.

Wednesday, October 19, 2011

Wednesday's Card-of-the-Day

Susan's Nine of Wands. Theme: inner strength.
Daniel's The Empress. Theme: creativity, fertility and abundance, happiness and good fortune.

Tuesday, October 18, 2011

Tuesday's Card-of-the-Day

Susan's Eight of Swords
She has to go to training today & tomorrow out at the CSO in Millwood.
Daniel's Ace of Cups
We didn't win the lotto last night. I'm hoping that this card--abundance and happiness--indicates that we will win, finally.

Monday's Card-of-the-Day

Susan's Judgement
Daniel's Knight of Swords
Susan and Bentley talked this weekend about travel. He is thinking about coming up here for a few days and then flying off to Bangkok for a month. Apparently, Friday was his last day of work. And we are going to go down to Tampa in January and stay with him. We figure that the judgement indicates an end and a new beginning. The knight is Bentley: a man of action, one who gets things done. We are amazed at the web of connections: Bentley's friend Yoshi lived in the apartment next to ours, Bentley got stuck in the snow in 2009 right near our apartment on 6th, which is right near Lorrie's Fifth Avenue salon, and our Tree House apartment is right across the street from David's where I lived and met Susan 18 years ago, and Bentley had his apartment on 10th just west of Huckleberry's. It would be so right if we won the lotto tonight, and especially Tuesday.

Saturday, October 15, 2011

Saturday's Card-of-the-Day

Susan's The Chariot
Daniel's The Hanged Man
We got two numbers on the Mega Millions: $3
Daniel is not feeling well today. Bad and persistent headache.

Wednesday, October 12, 2011

Wednesday's Card-of-the-Day

Susan had a better sleep last night. She's feeling pretty good. The card she picked is the Seven of Pentacles. Daniel's is the Knight of Cups.

Tuesday, October 11, 2011

Tuesday's Card-of-the-Day

Daniel's Judgement
Susan was not having a good morning. Woke up early. Picked a bad card. Gained two pounds. Is rather depressed. Put her deck away. I'm sorry baby. Daniel had a dream: there was the word magic and the date October 20th.

Tuesday, October 4, 2011

Tuesday's Card-of-the-Day

Susan's The Chariot
Daniel's Page of Swords
Andy called early this morning. Said that he was driving around, but wanted to know if Susan had a copy of his GED for some job application. She does. I was proud of her because she didn't ask what, why or how he's been doing.

Friday, September 23, 2011

Friday, September 23rd, the autumnal equinox

Susan and I have a wonderful three day weekend together. We went to Picabo Bistro for lunch. It was delicious. Susan had the Curry Bowl and I had Vegan Thai Phad Thai. Of course we had a lovely bottle of chilled Maryhill Pinot Gris.

Wednesday, September 14, 2011

Wednesday's Card-of-the-Day

Susan's Nine of Pentacles Theme: Success and Enjoyment. Kat says, Financial security brings freedom.
Daniel's Justice Theme: A balanced mind found through logic. I say that winning the lotto tonight is only just. Show me the money.

Friday, September 9, 2011

Friday's Card-of-the-Day

Susan's The Hierophant. Theme: Search for Spiritual Meaning. Searching for life's meaning that touches the deeper layers of the psyche rather than the desire for material success. When I read that last part, remarking that I didn't like the sound of that, she corrected me by explaining that she was not approved to having great wealth, but that she didn't want to actually work for it. I understood as we have discussed this often on our weekend walks.
Daniel picked the Four of Cups. Its theme is one of discontentment. The person depicted in the card is so dissatisfied with what he does have that he refuses even that which is offered magically (the fourth cup). Well, I appreciate what I have but I want better and more of it. Frankly and put succinctly: I want to be very rich.

Tuesday's Card-of-the-Day

We had a lovely four day (Labor Day) weekend. Yesterday we went to Barnes and Noble and got many royalty and Victorian things. 'Tis wonderful. My lovely wife is reading The White Queen by Philippa Gregory. Her mother has the sight.

Sunday's Card-of-the-Day

Susan's Ace of Cups
Daniel's King of Wands

Friday's Card-of-the-Day

Daniel's Three of Swords
Kat says, "Melancholy and a broken heart."
My book states the theme "Tension released."
Yesterday, Susan made an appointment for me at Rockwood's Urgent Care.
I took the No.2 bus from downtown, getting off at 5th & Division--the old neighborhood.
I walked the 4 blocks to the Clinic beating the bus which goes up the hill and around.
I got to the Clinic at 2:00 PM. Waited until 3:00 when I was seen by Nurse Mark, then waited another 25 minutes before seeing Dr. Hubbard. Left at 3:25 PM. I walked up to the pharmacy at Rosauer's on 14th, thinking that the medication prescribed would be ready for me. Unfortunately it wasn't and I waited another 15 minutes.

Muslim

This evening after Susan came home, I received a phone call from Akmed from IslamiCity. He talk to me about Islam. At the end he felt that I was ready and recited the Shahada in Arabic, and I repeated it after him. He said, "Now you are a Muslim."

Monday's Card-of-the-Day

Daniel's Page of Swords
We had another fabulous three-weekend together, Susan and I. Sunday we got inspired by Law of Attraction. Susan discovered that a show about travel in Marrakech was finally on the TV. This is where, just last week, we wanted to go. We were studying Arabic and reading the Quran and learning Salaat prayers. Susan came in the bedroom when she heard that I was awake--she usually rises 3 or 4 hours before me. We sat up in bed and talked quietly, all along watching the rising sun; the dawn lightening up the sky, first red, then pink, then orange. We determined that we would travel: first to Florida in January to see Bentley, and then to Morocco. Last week Susan's co-worker have her a coupon for 20% off. She look at luggage at JC Penney's. Later that Sunday morning we drove to the Northtown Mall and found a 3-piece, 24" luggage set with wheels. We got two: Susan's selected the red one, and I picked the tan-orange set. While driving home to our lovely apartment--which takes 6 or 7 minutes (as contrasted to the 40 minutes drive to Medical Lake--we debated whether we should go for a walk. It was starting to get warm outside. But we decided that we, who were determined to travel to hot climes--Florida, Morocco, Thailand, China, India--we up to it, and felt that we get used to it, to the heat. And so we did, and it was fine. We took some cheese and grapes and a bottle of water with us. Just into the walk, while still trekking up infamous southside hills, Andy called with some good news. He was at a friend's house when they were visited by the Comcast technician. Andy and the tech were talking, and it was revealed that Andy was the one who wired (networked) the Youth Center. He told Andy that he should be working for Comcast, and the tech called his boss and setup an appointment for him for noon today. Susan was so jazzed about that news and who things were falling into place, all according to the Law of Attraction.

Thursday's Card-of-the-Day

Daniel's The High Priestess

The High Priestess can be seen as the feminine side of The Magician.
She is linked to the new moon. Approach with patience and sensitivity.
Current moon phase: Waxing Crescent, 28% of full.

Gut Shabbos

We are observing Shabbos for the first time in our new apartment/condo since April 15th when we moved in. When I woke this morning about 6:00 and came out into the living room to greeting Susan, I was without a headache--Baruch HaShem--and when I asked Susan how she was, she smiled contentedly and said that she was feeling very well. I am so happy about that.

Thursday's Card-of-the-Day

Susan's Queen of Pentacles
Daniel's Temperance
We're going stop picking Cards-of-the-Day for awhile. We are in a different space having revived our interest in Judaism: Shalom-TV, Hebrew, Tanakh, Kosher recipes and reading our favorite author, Chaim Potok.

Tuesday, July 5, 2011

Tuesday, July 5th, 2011

Andy came by and brought some herbs from his garden. It was nice to see him, but he talked mainly with his mother. He had recently been to Minnesota (if I recall): He helped someone drive a car back East then flew home.

Tuesday's Card-of-the-Day

Susan's Ten of Pentacles
Daniel's Seven of Cups
Unfortunately, we didn't win the Lotto last night. There is a fireworks display in Spokane, downtown along the river. It started at 10:00 PM and last 20 minutes. This is so much better than the fireworks revelry that we had to endue in Medical Lake which lasted for hours. Another thing to be grateful for. Early yesterday morning we took another walk and visited Mother. We had a lovely visit.

Susan's Zodiac Signs and Meanings

Cancer Zodiac sign and meaning Cancer - The Crab - June 21 – July 22
Cancerians love home-life, family and domestic settings. They are traditionalists, and enjoy operating on a fundamental level. They love history, and are fascinated with the beginnings of things (heraldry, ancestry, etc.). The moon is their ruler, so they can be a bit of a contradiction and sometimes moody. However, they are conservative, so they’ll be apt to hide their moods from others altogether. They have a reputation for being fickle, but they’ll tell you that isn’t true, and it’s not. Cancerians make loyal, sympathetic friends. However Cancerians need alone time, and when they retreat, let them do so on their terms.

Daniel's Zodiac Signs and Meanings

Taurus zodiac signs and meanings Taurus - The Bull - April 20 – May 20
Taurus zodiac signs and meanings, like the animal that represents them, is all about strength, stamina and will. Stubborn by nature, the Taurus will stand his/her ground to the bitter end (sometimes even irrationally so). But that’s okay because the Taurus is also a loving, sympathetic and appreciative sign. The Taurus is very understanding and when we need someone to unburden ourselves to, we often share our deepest fears with the Taurians of the zodiac. Taurians are very patient, practical and efficient, they are excellent in matters of business and are also wonderful instructors/teachers. Although initially they may have their own best interest at heart, they are ultimately & endlessly generous with their time, possessions and love.

Susan's Zodiac Flower Sign

Cancer= accanthus flower sign Accanthus - "Look to my petals for your nurturing."
June 21 – July 22
Sensitivity is the watchword for accanthus flower signs. You are perceptive, and have high intuition in matters of the heart, and environment. You often react to others (even when they don’t speak their feelings, you still know what is going on inside their hearts), and your surroundings. You are warm and sympathetic, and a natural healer too. Accanthus zodiac flower signs are highly influenced by outside forces – especially the pull of the moon. A secure home life, surrounded by friends and family who love you and you love back often help ground you and keep you from falling prey to negative influences.See Cancer.

Daniel's Zodiac Flower Signs

Taurus =poppy flower sign Poppy - "I provide beauty to your senses."
April 20 – May 19
If you are a poppy among the zodiac flower signs you love the finer things in life, and you love to share them with other people. You have a flare for design, a good eye for detail, and a knack for putting things together with style. Refinery comes natural to you, and you have a classy way about you that others find alluring. Poppy people are about pleasure: giving and receiving it. You enjoy security and comfort. Those with the flower sign of the poppy are very resilient too, and can weather any storm because of their patience and headstrong nature. See Taurus.

Susan's Celtic Animal Symbology

Horse (Ogham = The Oak Tree)
Among one of the most honored Celtic animal symbols, the horse is a vehicle for some amazing transcendental experiences. Hop on the back of a horse, and take a free ride into the groves of your mind. With the horse as your guide, you will encounter themes of stability, honor, trust, intelligence and strength. Utilize the powerful energy of the horse to invoke courage in situations that otherwise leave you a little shaky. The horse is noble blood to the Celtic mind, unquestioning in its authority. Take on that same persona when you need to charge into a situation with confidence.

Daniel's Celtic Animal Symbology

Deer (Ogham = The Willow Tree)
Be kind, be aware, and be tender with yourself and others. Deer as Celtic animal symbols walk gingerly and gracefully into our consciousness to bestow a quality of gentle reassurance. The deer, particularly does are reminders of spiritual evolution, and the patience required to allow our spiritual unfolding (at our own pace). If you've ever encountered the deer, you know they'll wait for an eternity until they are quite sure it's safe to make the next move. The deer asks you to do this same in your spiritual walk.

Susan's Celtic Tree Astrology - June 26th - Cancer

Celtic Tree Astrology: The Oak Oak - The Stabilizer
June 10 – July 7 Those born under the Celtic tree astrology sign of the Oak have a special gift of strength. They are protective people and often become a champion for those who do not have a voice. In other words, the Oak is the
crusader and the spokesperson for the underdog. Nurturing, generous and helpful, you are a gentle giant among the Celtic zodiac signs. You exude an easy confidence and naturally assume everything will work out to a positive outcome. You have a deep respect for history and ancestry, and many people with this sign become teachers. You love to impart your knowledge of the past to others. Oak signs have a need for structure, and will often go to great lengths to gain the feeling of control in their lives. Healthy Oak signs live long, full, happy lives and enjoy large family settings and are likely to be involved with large social/community networks. Oak signs pair off well with the Ash and Reed, and are known to harmoniously join with Ivy signs too.

Daniel's Celtic Tree Astrology - May 6th - Taurus

Celtic Tree Astrology: The Willow Willow - The Observer
April 15 – May 12 If you are a Willow sign, you are ruled by the moon, and so your personality holds hands with many of the mystical aspects of the lunar realm. This means you are highly creative, intuitive (
highly psychic people are born under the sign of the Willow) and intelligent. You have a keen understanding of cycles, and you inherently know that every situation has a season. This gives you a realistic perspective of things, and also causes you to be more patient than most tree signs. With your intelligence comes a natural ability to retain knowledge and you often impress your company with the ability to expound on subjects from memory. Willow Celtic tree astrology signs are bursting with potential, but have a tendency to hold themselves back for fear of appearing flamboyant or overindulgent. It is your powers of perception that ultimately allow your true nature to shine, and what leads you to success in life. Willow signs join well with the Birch and the Ivy.

Four of July Weekend

Today, being Saturday, Susan and I walked down to the library, and that was fun, and for a challenge--which I predict we will never do that again--we walked straight up Lincoln Street. Those hills kicked our butt, but we made it. Then we lunched and at 1:00 we walked up to Manito Park. 'Twas a lovely walk: sunny and in the 70's.

Wednesday's Card-of-the-Day

Four of Cups
...which said, and rightly so, that we have so much in our lives to be thankful for already, but we have--and rightly so, I add--desires for greater wealth, for restored health, for greater happiness. According to the Law of Attraction: ASK the Universe for what you want, BELIEVE that you will have it, and patiently and expectantly you will RECEIVE it. I'm believin' it is so.

Tuesday, May 31, 2011

Tuesday's Card-of-the-Day

Gift of prophecy. Giving up of something to gain something better. The Hanged Man represents a need to let go and give oneself over to something for spiritual enlightenment."

New Beginnings

We have been in our new apartment for a month, since April 15th. Yesterday, Susan said to me: "I love this place; it's like living in a tree house." Our lovely, new apartment is perched above the street affording a great view of the city skyline and the snow-capped mountains off in the distant north east. Our deck is surrounded by leafy trees. Yesterday, Susan purchased a new Tarot deck, Golden Tarot. The first card she picked was The Magician.
